All cars for Asphalt and Fuel Supply must reach BNSF lines prior to placing at the customer’s facility. We will receive these cars from both UP and BNSF. Below is the process that will ensure these cars are updated to move properly prior to spotting. If we receive cars from UP, they will need to move as haulage to BNSF lines.

This will require you to update the RWC to a haulage RWC - PLEASE SEE PROCESS DETAILS BELOW!

A good way to confirm if cars need to move as haulage would be to check the history. Below screenshot shows a car that has already moved as haulage to BNSF and has returned for spotting.

If a car is received from BNSF directly, they do not have to move as haulage. The below process will not apply to cars received directly from BNSF rather than receiving from UP first. For example, the history of BNSF direct cars will look more like this. It will have no prior history of receiving from UP.

SLWC Asphalt and Fuel Report Process

We have a report that will come through every four hours that will show all pending waybills with ASPFUE blocking. If cars are coming from UP showing consigned to Asphalt and Fuel, follow the below process.

If we see cars on this report, search the car numbers in the white waybill queue.

There will be an ACT waybill with an RWCLOAD001 or UPRR0501 RWC that shows up. If we have the cars online showing ICR from UP, they will always require the UPRR0501 RWC so they can move to BNSF as haulage.

Once we confirm the ACT waybill has the UPRR0501 RWC, we can continue with creating a pending bill for when the car returns from BNSF as instructed below.

Select and highlight the ACT waybill and select “Duplicate”

A duplicate waybill will open showing the UPRR0501 RWC. We will update this to show RWC ASPFUE0501. This will ensure that the car has good billing/blocking to reach Asphalt and Fuel once it returns.

If we ever have extra pending waybills, we can clear those through Utilities> Update Waybill Status Ind.

Something to note – occasionally cars will be missed on this report and return from BNSF with improper billing. When this happens, we can go to the history and copy/pend the previous ICH waybill.

Once we have the Asphalt and Fuel Supply billing pending, we can unmatch the invalid bill, clear that waybill from pending by using the “Update Waybill Status Indicator” under Utilities.

Be sure to apply a ASPFUE0501 RWC to this newly pending bill so it will block to Asphalt and Fuel Supply.
