Ops will email in to release empty the loaded unit trains. This will need to be done in Watss and ARMS.

Please Note: If the Unit Train came in with loaded buffers, such as the Chevron train, we will also need to ask the PTRA to apply the reverse route 404 to the buffer cars.   Please send the PTRA an email to do so. If they do not have the reverse route billing, call the Class 1 and let them know that we received the train from them and ask if them to check for the reverse route billing. Ask them to send the 404 to the PTRA.

To Release empty in Watss:

If you were not sent a switchlist by Ops, they will send you the tracks where the cars are located.   Using your process, you will need to create a switchlist of the cars.  All cars must be in pact status.  If they are not, first send yourself a switchlist for reference.  Use your master table to locate your customer track, pact the cars to the track and return your cars to their original track and sequence.

Once your cars are in pact status, using your process to empty cars, empty the cars on the train:

Next, you will need to empty release the cars in ARMS, using your process in the ARMS cheat sheet on how to empty cars and release cars in ARMS.  Cars will need to be in PU status before the PTRA will pick the train up.

Please make sure to double check that you are seeing all of the cars in ARMS and if you are not, research which cars you are not seeing and contact the PTRA. They will need to get all of the cars visible to you to release the entire train. You can check the car count by scrolling down your list of cars in ARMS after you have selected all of your cars and your car count should match the car count in Watss:

After you have the cars in PU status and you have confirmed that the buffers are billed with the PTRA, respond to the Ops email that cars are released emptied in both Watss and ARMS and that you have good billing on the buffers:
