Once in a while, Ops will want to know if Valero cars are red dye cars.  Valero has sent me an updated list of the cars that have dye in them.  If these cars come online, they need to be marked “RED DYE” in the switch instructions.  Most of the time, cars will come online with RED DYE in the switch instructions but once in awhile, Ops or HLT will ask us.  There is an updated excel spreadsheet with Red Dye cars as reported by the BNSF and Valero in teams.

Once you open the spreadsheet, click in an empty box and hit control F.  In the "Find what" section, type in just the car number and hit enter.  If the car is a red dye car, it should pull up in the spreadsheet for you:

If the car is a RED DYE car, if will need to be marked as such in the switch instructions.  It's important that these cars get marked so that the wrong product isn't put into the car.
