To log into Watss:
1. Double click the Watss icon.
2. Once Watss opens, use the drop down to find the RR/Terminal you are looking for and hit ok.
3. Enter your user name and password (provided by IT) and hit enter:
To locate a car in Watss and create switchlists:
1. Top row, second from the left, hit equipment:
2. Your stations and tracks should open up. Once they are open, hit locate in the middle of the bottom row:
3. Your search screen should be open. This screen will filter your cars by equipment initials and equipment number:
4. You can either click on the car OR type both the initials and number into the search fields and hit enter. This will add it to the list:
NOTE: IF THE EQUIPMENT INITIAL IS SHORTER THAN 4 LETTERS, YOU WILL NEED TO HIT YOUR TAB KEY TO ADVANCE TO THE EQUIPMENT NUMBER FIELD
5. After you hit enter, the curser will return to the equipment initial field and you can continue to add cars to your list in the same manner, hitting enter to add a car to your list:
6. Once you have keyed your list, hit switchlist on the bottom row, far left.
This will bring your cars into a switchlist. This enables you to move cars, deliver cars off to another railroad, research the cars, email lists and waybills, look at waybills and car history, load and empty cars plus many other things.
To move a car on a switchlist:
1. Highlight your car and hit the move button, bottom row and 4th from the right:
2. This will bring you to the move screen. Once in the move screen, pick your move from the drop down menu. Crews will usually report which move they are needing to be applied to the car. Update your date and time, if needed, the station and location of the where you want the car to go. You also have the option of moving the car to the front or back of the track. Once you have all of your information entered, hit ok.
Car will now show the location in your switchlist:
