All inbound cars for Southern States need to have an address listed in their switch instructions. Southern States has four separate facilities that process specific chemicals. Each facility has its’ own address, and that is what crews use for spotting purposes. Most of these cars are hazardous, so the address listed needs to be correct and applied timely.
Their four address are:
100 Seapoint Blvd
101 Seapoint Blvd
1600 President Street
1601 President Street
To determine which address to use, go to the most recent outbound bill in the cars’ history.
Open that waybill, and look at what is listed in the Shipper’s information.
That is the address that needs to be added to the switch instructions to the car, once online.
If the car has not been online recently (or at all!), we need to email the CSXT for an address.
Once an address has been applied, please treat it like an RWC and send it to CS Request. ?? JL 6/10/21
From time to time, the customer may be able to take a car (usually a cleaned tanker) at a different facility. When that happens, they will list the change on their switch request.
All you will need to do is verify the car has not yet been placed and update the switch instructions.
Always verify to the customer that the instructions for the car have been updated.
